Meet our advisory board

The members of our Advisory Board are recognized childbirth and lactation experts who dedicate themselves to the health and well-being of mothers and their babies. We are so grateful to them for graciously donating their time and experience to our Advisory Board.

Sarah Coulter Danner, MSN, CNM, CPNP, IBCLC, has worked with breastfeeding mothers and babies for more than 30 years, first in the public health arena and then as a pediatric nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. She has held faculty positions at Case Western Reserve University, with the Community Based Nurse Midwifery Education Program at the Frontier Nursing School, and at the State University of New York (SUNY), Pathways to Nurse Midwifery Program. Sarah was named the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year for Northeastern Ohio in 1982 and Women’s Health Champion of Northeast Ohio in 1991–1992. In 1986, Sarah received the Mary Ann Flynn Award for Nurse Midwifery. She has been the American College of Nurse Midwives representative to the United States Breastfeeding Committee for more than 10 years and has served on the board of Baby Friendly U.S.A. since its inception and now serves as acting president of the board. She currently works part time as a nurse midwife at Native Women’s Health Care while working full time on her PhD.
