Start Spreading the News:
Breastfeeding Is Best

August is National Breastfeeding Month, and World Breastfeeding Week is August 1–7, making the month of August a great time to promote and support breastfeeding as the best way to nourish most babies.

At Childbirth Graphics, we are committed to breastfeeding education as an integral part of our mission to nurture healthy babies and grow healthy families. We have a dedicated line of breastfeeding and lactation education materials that are perfect for breastfeeding educators to use as they teach expectant and new parents about the many benefits of breastfeeding and how to achieve breastfeeding success. We also provide essential reference materials for lactation consultants to use as they counsel new breastfeeding mothers.

Read on to discover great tips and educational resources to promote breastfeeding this August and all year round.

Breastfeeding Education Demonstrations & Activities

Performing lactation education demonstrations with demonstration models is a great way to teach essential breastfeeding information, such as proper and improper latch, correct tongue positioning, breastfeeding positions, hand expression of breastmilk, and so much more. Our breastfeeding education demonstration models (including our Cloth Breast and Hand Puppet Model Set (in beige or brown skin tone), Lactessa™ Breastfeeding Model, and Small Lactating Breast (in beige or brown skin tone) are instructor essentials to help patients and clients achieve breastfeeding success.
Educational activities are a great way to break the ice with groups, spark group discussions, and inspire interactive learning. They also can be useful for working one-on-one with individual mothers and couples. Hand out the 14 fun objects in our Breastfeeding Benefits Box Display to promote discussion on the many ways breastfeeding is best, from emotional bonding with baby to financial savings. Our engaging SpinSmart™ Breastfeeding Wheel teaches concepts and reinforces knowledge on a wide range of breastfeeding topics from getting started to problem-solving.

Breastfeeding Education Displays & Handouts

From larger educational displays (such as our Successful Breastfeeding Folding Display) to easily portable displays that lactation educators can carry in their pocket (such as our Colostrum: The Gold Standard™ Display), our breastfeeding displays are perfect to teach essential breastfeeding concepts. Covering important topics from breastfeeding positions to how much breastmilk a baby needs, each display highlights a mother’s amazing ability to nourish her baby.
Reinforcing the key breastfeeding topics you share with your patients and clients is easy with our breastfeeding education handouts, including tear pads, booklets, and pamphlets. For example, the eight tear pads in our Breastfeeding Tear Pad Set cover all the breastfeeding essentials, from waking a sleeping baby to facts about colostrum. These tear pads are English on one side and Spanish on the other, allowing you to reach an even wider audience.

August may be National Breastfeeding Month, but every day is a great day to spread the world about the many benefits of breastfeeding for babies and their mothers. Childbirth Graphics is here to help you help expectant and new parents achieve breastfeeding success for their growing families. Check out our breastfeeding and lactation teaching materials to find all your educator essentials.
